The quarter ends on Friday, October 26. I will not accept any late work after Thursday, Oct. 25

     1.   Current event: “’Transgender’ Could Be Defined Out of Existence Under Trump Administration.” Discuss 

     2.   In groups of 3 or 4, exchange your drafts of your Unconventional Prompt essay. Read each other’s essays and

·       highlight words, phrases, anecdotes, details that impact you as a reader

·       write a note that explains what makes those highlighted details effective

·       Read at least two essays during this time. 

     3.   Individually, read 3 sample “Winning” essays and complete the graphic organizer. 

     4.   Instructions for writing the college / personal essay handed out / explained. 

HOMEWORK DUE TUESDAY, October 30: write a 500-650 word essay that is polished and thoroughly developed. (See handout for details.)
