     1.   Due Monday, October 15: In Google Classroom: Write a 2 page response to the film Confirmation.

     2.   In groups of 3 or 4, exchange your drafts of your personal essay (about childhood experiences.) Read each other’s essays and make comments on things you liked about the essays. Highlight or underline these places and write in the margin why you like these places. Try to read at least two essays during this time. 

     3.   As a whole class, review the Common Application Essay Prompts. Discuss possible approaches to these prompts and mark which prompts are most interesting to you and brainstorm ideas, if there is time. Choose one of these prompts and write a complete draft of an essay for Friday, October 19. (500-650 words, typed, double-spaced.) 

     4.   Continue Independent Book Selection process (we ended with the Michelle Obama book.) Take notes on book choices. 

     5.   HOMEWORK DUE ON FRIDAY, OCT. 19: Choose one of the Common Application Essay Prompts and write a COMPLETE draft (500-650 words, typed, double-spaced.)
