Get a copy of your Independent book by Thursday October 25

The quarter ends on Friday (next Friday). I will not accept any late work after Thursday, Oct. 25

     1.   In groups of 3 or 4, exchange your drafts of your Common App essay. Read each other’s essays and

·       highlight words, phrases, anecdotes, details that impact you as a reader

·       write a note that explains what makes those highlighted details effective

·       Read at least two essays during this time. 

   2.  As a whole class, review Unconventional Prompts. Choose 3 or 4 of these prompts and take notes/brainstorm in your notebook about what you could write about these 25 (45)

       For next class (Tuesday, October 23), choose one of these unconventional prompts and write a complete draft of an essay (500-600 words, typed, double-spaced.)
